We have spent many hours planning for the upcoming Kansas Veterans and Family Reunion. We have had many challenges this year but I am sure we have a great event in store for you all. Everyone has heard all the hubbub about the government budget cuts and this year it has effected the military support we usually have every year. Sadly, I must report that there will be very little current military equipment or aircraft present this year. On the flipside, we do have great support of the local Army Reserve unit our of El Dorado and it also looks as the we will have equipment coming out from private collectors and the Kansas Museum of Military History out of Augusta. We are also excited for this years theme and artwork, and I think you all will be as well. Once again we are looking forward to a great fireworks show and great live music. Also, when you are out at the reunion this year, please make sure you show some love to the all volunteer staff putting this event together. They all give of their own time and often of their own resources to help put the reunion together. They won't ever ask for your thanks, they just ask that you enjoy your reunion. Our staff is always on the lookout for new members, so if you might be interested in being a part of the planning staff then let us know. Also, we are always in need of auction items. If you have something of interest you would like to donate to the reunion to be used for the fund-raising auction please bring it out and get it to a staff member, every little thing helps. In 2012, we donated $3,000 to the Kansas Honor Flights and additionally donated $3,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Car Show, this year, will again be run by Dale Enderud, (620) 441-1095. With that, I will close, I look forward to seeing you all this upcoming July and I hope you all have a great time. Lastly to all my Brother and Sister Veterans, I wish to say WELCOME HOME!
